Overview

Catalyze develops and operates distributed renewable energy projects and serves as an independent power producer for commercial, industrial, and public sector customers. Its platform combines proprietary REenergyze technology with asset development and operations expertise to streamline planning, financing, deployment, and operation of solar and storage assets. The company intends to use new capital to accelerate origination, financing, and deployment, support acquisitions, and advance early-stage project development. Catalyze closed a $200 million three-year facility from Deutsche Bank that comprises revolving and term debt plus a letter of credit to provide flexible expansion capital. Earlier in 2025 it secured $400 million from ATLAS SP Partners and an $85 million tax equity investment from RBC, bringing total capital raised in 2025 to nearly $700 million. These financings position Catalyze to scale its model, meet rising demand for distributed energy solutions, and expand its footprint nationwide. Catalyze originates, acquires, builds, owns, and operates distributed solar and storage assets across community solar, commercial & industrial (C&I), and public sector verticals. The company leverages proprietary technology, REenergyze®, to streamline the origination-to-operations process and accelerate deployment. Catalyze’s distributed generation portfolio totals 300MW of projects in operations and construction. Its private equity sponsors, EnCap Investments and Actis, continue to support the company’s growth strategy. Catalyze plans to expand its distributed generation pipeline and deliver energy resilience, decarbonization, and long-term value to property owners, businesses, and communities nationwide by advancing solar and storage deployments. Catalyze develops and operates distributed renewable energy assets including rooftop solar, community solar, and battery storage. The company uses a proprietary software platform, REenergyze, to streamline and automate the origination-to-operations process. Its project portfolio currently consists of 300 MW in operations and construction, with more than 1 GW of additional investment opportunity in its development pipeline. Catalyze is focused on scaling distributed renewable solutions for commercial and industrial customers and communities across the United States. The company’s private equity sponsors, EnCap Investments and Actis, continue to support its growth strategy. Leadership says the new financing will enable accelerated growth and project execution. Catalyze develops, finances, owns, and operates integrated renewable assets—primarily solar and battery storage—for commercial and industrial customers. The company combines proprietary technologies (REenergyze and SolarStrap) with financing and operations capabilities to standardize and scale deployments. Catalyze is leveraging its platform to expand community distributed generation (CDG) projects in New York State and recently announced projects reaching operation in Lancaster and Amherst. It secured a $100 million financing to support a 79 MW CDG solar portfolio across New York. The firm emphasizes equitable access, with this transaction requiring a significant percentage of subscribers to benefit disadvantaged communities. Catalyze is backed by energy investors EnCap Investments L.P. and Actis and positions itself as a national Energy Transition Partner. Catalyze is a renewable energy data analytics, development, and asset management platform that partners with mid-to-large commercial and industrial real estate owners. The company designs, delivers, finances, and provides asset management services for smart energy infrastructure over the assets' life cycle. Its smart energy infrastructure offerings include solar, battery electric storage, electric vehicle charging, and microgrids. Catalyze says these systems improve the profitability, resiliency, and tenant value of commercial properties. Led by CEO Joel Serface, COO James Geshwiler, and CTO Steve Atherton, the company plans to use the financing to expand its operations, finance, and sales teams. Catalyze secured a $4.6M initial institutional financing from backers including the Innosphere Fund and Prisma Energy.
