Conio, founded in 2015 by Christian Miccoli and Vincenzo Di Nicola and based in Milan, Italy, is a fintech firm operating in the cryptocurrency industry. As a wallet provider the company offers custody, negotiation and reporting services, currently focusing on Bitcoin. In a capital increase operation approved for a total of USD 14m, Banca Generali acted as the main investor and acquired a stake in Conio. The transaction includes a commercial distribution agreement under which Banca Generali will begin offering Conio’s services to its customers in 2021. The involvement of Banca Generali provides Conio with both financing and a distribution channel to expand customer access to its Bitcoin custody and reporting services.
