Custom Cells Itzehoe GmbH (CCI) is a developer of flexible energy storage systems based in Itzehoe, Germany. Led by Torge Thönnessen and King Leopold, the company produces optimized energy storage solutions for customer-specific applications built on a proprietary lithium-battery technology platform. Its battery systems are tailored for uses such as prostheses, autonomic weather stations, satellites, drilling sensors, autonomous underwater vehicles and concept cars. The company raised capital from strategic investors to strengthen its position. It intends to use the funds to improve market positioning, optimize production processes and support growth. Custom Cells Itzehoe manufactures electrode foils, rechargeable accumulators and complete battery systems for a range of niche applications. The company supplies components and systems for prosthetics, weather stations, satellites, drill head sensors, unmanned underwater vehicles and concept cars. It is led by co-CEOs Torge Thönnessen and Leopold König. The firm is also working toward future battery solutions using innovative materials. Custom Cells received funding from High‑Tech Gründerfonds and intends to use the proceeds to continue to grow the business.
