Cytoki Pharma is a private biotechnology company in Copenhagen developing synthetic, long-acting IL-22 protein therapeutics aimed at repairing epithelial damage. Its lead program is a licensed IL-22 variant (from Novo Nordisk A/S) engineered with a lipidation technology to extend pharmacologic action. The company is focused on proving concept in inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease) and plans to explore other epithelial indications such as liver injury. Preclinical data have shown promising regenerative activity, and the program is positioned to enter initial human clinical studies. Cytoki’s recent €38M financing will fund the first clinical trials and proof-of-concept studies in patients, supporting clinical and program development.
