Overview
Daimon Robotics develops a full-stack tactile intelligence stack—hardware sensors, large-scale physical-interaction datasets, and large models—centered on its Daimon-TWM "physical interaction brain" for dexterous robotic manipulation. Daimon-TWM is a tactile-grounded world model with about 10 billion parameters that the company says can run in real time on an NVIDIA RTX 5090 and that leverages unified tactile tokens to extract contact-related information from multimodal observations. The company has released what it describes as the world’s largest dataset for physical worlds with tactile modalities and reports that Daimon-TWM achieves roughly double the success rate of a baseline (π0.5) under unstressed conditions and up to ten times higher under disturbed conditions on contact-intensive manipulation tasks. Daimon emphasizes a three-layer architecture—physical cognition, predictive decision-making and high-frequency tactile-feedback control—supporting a "slow planning–fast correction" operational cycle. The team traces technical roots to CMU and HKUST researchers and began large-scale operations in Shenzhen at the end of 2023, with named leaders including co-founder and chief scientist Wang Yu, founder/CEO Duan Jianghua, chief AI scientist Yuan Weihao and tactile sensor lead Du Yipai.
