Overview
Dental Residency provides domiciliary dental services to people with mobility problems, delivering care in nursing homes and day centres. The company currently serves more than 1,000 residences and day centres in Spain and has treated over 90,000 patients. In the first half of the year it reported a 75% increase in billing and projects 100% growth by year-end. Funds raised will be used to scale services in Spain and to accelerate international expansion. Dental Residency entered the Italian market in January with an operational centre in Milan, plans to open a centre in London in Q4 2023, and intends to enter Germany in 2024. Management aims to multiply the company’s European business fourfold within two years. Dental Residency delivers at‑home dental care using portable equipment and a specific methodology for dependent, institutionalized and mobility‑impaired patients. Since beginning operations in 2015 it has treated nearly 50,000 patients and serves more than 600 residences and day centers. The company currently operates in Catalonia and the Valencian Community and reached positive EBITDA in early 2021. Management projects to triple 2020 revenues by the end of 2021 and to increase them tenfold in 2022. Its expansion plan targets opening in eight new provinces in the first phase (starting in October) and reaching roughly 30 provinces by the end of 2022, with a goal to cover close to 95% of Spanish territory within two years. After consolidating the national expansion, the company aims to begin internationalization in 2023. Dental Residency provides domiciliary dental services to dependent institutionalized people using portable dental equipment to guarantee oral health when residents cannot travel to clinics. The company has operated in Catalonia, the Community of Madrid and the Valencian Community. It has served 600 residences and delivered annual oral-health reviews to more than 40,000 dependent people. With the new capital, Dental Residency intends to continue its growth plan and open new centers in other Spanish regions, including the Basque Country and Aragón. Financially, the company closed a €500k venture capital/business angels round through La Bolsa Social, which adds to €300k obtained in 2018. Investors in the round included Pau Mariné, the Seligrat family, Ramalama Inversiones, Equity4Good and René de Jong. Dental Residency is a dental-services company focused on older adults, operating in care homes and a clinic in Leganés (Madrid). It currently works with roughly 400 care homes in Catalonia and will begin offering free check-ups to about 3,000 residents from its Madrid clinic. The company expects to exceed €1 million in revenue this year, roughly triple its 2017 revenue after a 65% sales increase in 2017. Raised funds will be used to reinforce its position in Catalonia and to start operations in the Basque Country and the Community of Madrid within the year. The business model centers on providing in-residence dental care to institutionalized elderly populations alongside clinic services. The company is based in Barcelona (Catalonia) and operates in the healthcare/medical sector focused on geriatric dental care.
