Detechgene is a spin-off from the Nephrolab of the University Hospital Cologne Medicine II, founded in 2022. The company has developed a cartridge system for rapid nucleic acid detection that meets medical standards and enables quick, precise pathogen detection without additional equipment. Its flagship solution, branded ‘PCR to Go’, is a mobile molecular biology diagnostics system intended for on-site use and able to detect a wide range of pathogens in a very short time. Detechgene positions the product to combine PCR-level precision with the ease of a rapid antigen test. The firm says this technology opens market opportunities for customised testing solutions and aims to make laboratory diagnostics fast, mobile and accessible to everyone. Detechgene completed a financing round to advance development and deployment of its mobile diagnostics offering.
