Overview
DigitalBridge pivoted from an AR-based home decor planning app to a focused "guided design tool" for kitchens and bathrooms. Its solution lives on retailers' websites and apps and guides consumers through entering floor plans, designing in 3D and purchasing. The company says its core capabilities in AI and computer vision reduce the complexity of designing these rooms for non-experts. DigitalBridge has worked with Kingfisher Plc for the last couple of years and its product is already live with B&Q in the U.K. The tool aims to shorten sales cycles, increase conversion rates and average basket sizes, and drive more engaged customers into stores. The startup disclosed it has picked up £3 million in new backing to support growth and product development. DigitalBridge offers a computer-vision and machine-learning platform that integrates into a retailer’s website (via API or white-label) to let end users upload a photo of their room and automatically recognise walls, floors, ceilings, objects and lighting. The platform then removes or replaces existing furniture and surfaces and renders wallpapers, carpets, paints, artwork and furniture from a retailer’s catalogue. Unlike many competitors, DigitalBridge intentionally avoids AR apps, preferring native web integration to keep the buyer journey on retailers’ sites. It operates as a B2B SaaS targeting home décor retailers (John Lewis, DFS, B&Q, IKEA, Home Depot and similar chains are cited as targets). The company monetises each time an end user uploads a picture through a retailer integration. DigitalBridge is led by founder and CEO David Levine and is based in Manchester. The startup is backed by John Lewis via its accelerator and other investors, and has raised £700,000 in total.
