Overview
digzyme has developed bioinformatics-driven information platforms (“digzyme Moonlight” and “digzyme Spotlight”) to rapidly search for and engineer enzymes tailored to customer needs. The company is building a high-function enzyme library called “digzyme Designed Library” to accelerate production development for industrial enzymes. Target applications span food, chemicals, detergents, textiles, biomass energy, feed, agriculture, in vitro diagnostics, and research, with enzyme-based synthesis (cell-free systems) highlighted as a growing market. digzyme says its design technology can shorten basic research timelines by roughly one quarter and aims to compress combined R&D and production development time further with the Designed Library. The company has begun partnerships with corporates (including Fuji Nihon Seito) and reorganized its food-facing team; Takuo Miyauchi joined as director and CSMO to push food-industry initiatives. Financially, digzyme launched development in April 2024 under a ¥730M Series A budget that also includes loans and a NEDO DTSU STS grant to accelerate product and library development.
