DocsApp operates an online doctor consultation platform and merged with digital consumer health business MediBuddy in a mixed cash-and-equity deal while continuing to run as a separate entity. The combined entity has raised a $20 million Series B to bolster doctor supply, patient reach, product and technology and expand its direct-to-consumer business. DocsApp was founded in 2015 by Satish Kannan and D Enbasekar and previously acquired patient-doctor engagement platform DocWise in August 2019. Post-merger the entity projects a customer base of three crores and a provider network of about 90,000 doctors, 7,000 hospitals, 3,000 diagnostic centres and 2,500 pharmacies. The company declined to disclose the ultimate holding-company arrangement pending completion of formalities. Bessemer is a common investor across the merged businesses. Phasorz Technologies operates DocsApp, a mobile doctor-consultation app launched in July 2015. DocsApp lets users upload symptoms and diagnostic reports, pay a consultation fee, and get one-on-one consultations via video call, voice call or in-built chat. The platform also supports ordering medicines and booking diagnostic tests online and offers consultations across 15 specialties including dermatology, gynecology and pediatrics. The company says it has onboarded more than 5,000 specialist doctors (up from 2,000 at its 2017 Series A) and claims around 6 million registered users across Tier-1 and smaller urban Tier-2 areas. Founded in 2013 by Satish Kannan and Enbasekar D., Phasorz is backed by investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, GSF Accelerator, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Anupam Mittal and Srikanth Sundararajan. The company recently raised debt financing to support further growth, with the lead investor saying the funding will give DocsApp a fillip to scale. Management says it will use new funding for hiring, expanding operations, product development and outreach to recruit more doctors and extend services into remote and under-penetrated areas. The app previously raised $1.2 million and has backing from accelerators and angels. DocsApp is a Bangalore-based medical consultation app founded in 2015 by Satish Kannan and Enbasekar D. DocsApp is currently used by more than 15,000 patients every month from New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, NCR, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. The company raised $1.2M in seed funding from Rebright Partners and angel investors Anand Rajaraman and Venky Harinarayan.
