Doorman
550 10th St, San Francisco, CA, 94103, United States
Overview
Doorman enables online shoppers to route orders to a company warehouse address and then schedule final delivery in hourly windows, typically from 6 pm to midnight. The service notifies customers when the courier is en route and lets users schedule deliveries as late as midnight, seven days a week. Doorman charges consumers $3.99 per scheduled delivery or a monthly subscription, while many API partners may offer the service free to their customers. The company launched its first API to let partners integrate scheduling directly into checkout; the first partner is ShipCompliant and the first live integration is with NakedWines.com. Doorman has delivered over 25,000 packages in its first market, San Francisco, and is preparing to expand to Chicago and New York this summer. The company was founded by Zander Adell (with Kapil Israni as a co-founder who built the API) and intends to use partnerships and potential contracting with larger carriers to address last-mile delivery.
