Edera
450 Alaskan Way S Ste 200, Seattle, Washington, 98104, United States
Overview
Edera sells Edera Protect, a cloud-native workload isolation solution that makes containers secure by default and enables strict isolation without changing developer workflows. The company also launched Edera Protect AI to automate GPU configuration and isolate AI workloads, addressing recent vulnerabilities in GPU container toolkits. Edera says its isolation preserves native container-like performance, enables workload consolidation onto standard cloud instances, and reduces cloud costs while supporting multi-cloud portability. The product roadmap includes expanded support for AI infrastructure and automated GPU isolation capabilities. The company has been expanding its leadership team, including hiring Kaylin Trychon as CMO. Edera is female-founded and headquartered in Seattle and has raised funding to accelerate product expansion and go-to-market efforts. Edera has developed a low-level hypervisor, effectively a Rust rewrite of Xen, designed from the ground up to secure multi-tenant Kubernetes containers and AI workloads on GPUs. The team argues existing container security solutions are largely bolted on and aims to provide isolation without requiring hardware virtualization. Founders Ariadne Conill, Emily Long, and Alex Zenla bring security-focused Linux, operations, and systems engineering experience from projects and companies including Wolfi, Alpine Linux, Chainguard, Anchore, Radix, and Google. The company is working with design partners to test the technology and is opening its Kubernetes project to a wider audience. Edera is also developing support for confidential computing and GPU virtualization to enable sharing and stronger protections for AI workloads. The product emphasis is on reducing risk and operational complexity compared with layering many existing Kubernetes security tools.
