Overview
Emjoy produces subscription audio content aimed at sexual empowerment, intimate education and sensuous entertainment for women, supervised by an in-house sex therapist. The app features both wellbeing and entertainment audios and product features such as 30-day "Daily Routines" to build new habits. Emjoy launched worldwide in early 2020 and reached 80,000 registered users in its first six months; it now reports 150,000 active users with the U.S. and U.K. as main markets and English-only content. Almost 10% of recently acquired active users are paying a subscription. The team has grown to 11 people and most content is produced in-house, with plans for collaborations with academics, experts and influencers. The company says it aims to build the category-defining app in the female sexual-wellness audio space and will use new funding to create more content and partnerships. Emjoy, founded in 2018 by Andrea Oliver Garcia and Daniel Tamas in London, is a wellbeing app that empowers women on their journey to sexual happiness through scientifically-backed, research-centric audio content. Its core product is a library of more than 80 audio sessions including practical guides, meditation sessions and communication tips. Content covers topics such as boosting libido, developing self-knowledge, increasing pleasure and improving sexual communication, and features experts in psychology, sex therapy, education and mindfulness. The app is available to download through the App Store and Google Play. Emjoy secured €1M in seed funding and intends to use the capital to double its team by 2020 and establish a presence in its two core target markets: the UK and the U.S.
