Overview
Endor commercializes research out of MIT’s Media Lab to deliver a predictive-analytics cloud service based on the concept of “Social Physics.” The platform analyzes raw customer data to identify groups whose behaviors the company’s Social Physics formulas deem non-random, enabling clients to ask questions and receive predictions in minutes. Endor positions this approach as an alternative to generic machine-learning models, claiming faster, more flexible forecasts for use cases such as identifying loan candidates or predicting taxi traffic jams. The company acknowledges privacy and ethical implications and cites mentorship and writing on these issues by MIT professor Alex “Sandy” Pentland. Endor was launched in September 2014, is based in Tel Aviv, Israel, remains in stealth, and is working with early customers and design partners. The team is small, with about 10 employees, and plans an official launch at a later, undetermined date.
