Ole Maaløes Vej 3, Copenhagen N, Hovedstaden, 2200, Denmark
Overview
Enduro Genetics develops a patented "synthetic addiction" technology that integrates a genetic plug-in into microbial production hosts, coupling each cell’s productivity to its health and growth. The approach ensures only high-producing cells survive and non-productive cells are eliminated, maintaining a stable and productive microbial community. The company says its Enduro Sense capability improves industrial biomanufacturing, enabling consistent, scalable, and cost-efficient production. Enduro was spun out of the Technical University of Denmark, was founded by Peter Rugbjerg, and is led by CEO Christian Munch. The company raised €12M in a Series A and intends to use the funds to expand its platform and scale commercialization. Enduro Genetics is a Copenhagen, Denmark–based biotech focused on enabling large-scale fermentations. Its proprietary Enduro Sense technology self-selects the best cell variants to increase the competitiveness of green bioproduction. The company was spun out from the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability at the Technical University of Denmark and incubated at the BioInnovation Institute in Copenhagen. Led by CEO Peter Rugbjerg, Enduro has previously received funding from the Innovation Fund Denmark. In September 2022 the company closed its first funding round, raising an undisclosed amount led by NOON Ventures. It intends to use the proceeds to expand operations and advance its development efforts, and it strengthened its board with Thomas Videbæk and Ejner Bech Jensen while naming Niels Peder Nielsen chairman.
