Energiot
Eureka Building, Campus UAB, Cerdanyola el Vallès, Barcelona, 08193, Spain
Overview
Energiot develops a new generation of piezoelectric, self-powering IoT sensors that harvest energy from power lines to avoid batteries and maintenance, paired with data-as-a-service and an analytics (SaaS) platform for grid operators. Its patented technology targets deployment across high-, medium- and low-voltage networks and aims to enable functions such as failure prevention and Dynamic Line Rating. The company has completed sixteen projects with ten European electricity operators, including Iberdrola, Red Eléctrica de España, Enel and Alliander, and has recently converted some pilots into contracts with Iberdrola and Litgrid. Energiot employs fourteen people and currently operates in markets including Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Lithuania and the Netherlands. Planned next steps include industrialising hardware, scaling commercial deployment, launching drone-based installation, and integrating an onboard wind sensor to improve measurement accuracy.
