Enliven builds XR-based immersive simulations that let users experience scenarios from a target’s point of view to raise awareness and change behaviour. Its experiences address bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment, domestic violence, divorce and mental disability and are aimed at employers and social institutions. The company positions its work as prevention through awareness, making empathy training safe, scalable and accessible via virtual reality. Founder Alex Tavassoli drew on his refugee experience and a background in game development to create the product. Enliven’s 'Don't Forget Me' simulation won the JenV Innovation Award from the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security. The startup recently raised €1 million to expand content production, accelerate platform development, and boost brand visibility and marketing to broaden its societal impact.
