Entellus Medical develops minimally invasive balloon-dilation solutions for patients with chronic and recurrent sinusitis. Its core products include the XprESS multi-sinus dilation tool for trans-nasal treatment in office or operating room settings and the FinESS line designed for office-based, directly visualized maxillary sinus dilation. Clinical studies have shown the products safely reduce sinusitis symptoms, lower absenteeism and improve work productivity. Procedures using Entellus products are covered by many health plans representing approximately 150 million covered lives in the U.S. When performed in the doctor’s office, these procedures are less costly to the healthcare system than traditional endoscopic sinus surgery. The company is commercializing multiple product lines and using recent financing to support continued commercialization and operations. Entellus Medical develops less-invasive therapies for chronic sinusitis and recently launched the FinESS Sinus Treatment, a procedure the company says provides immediate relief and lasting results. The company completed a $30M Series D financing to support commercial expansion. The round was led by new investor Essex Woodlands Health Ventures and supported by existing investors Split Rock Partners and SV Life Sciences. Entellus will use the funds to expand its sales and customer support teams and to accelerate efforts to allow patients to be treated in an office-based setting. The company plans to launch its technologies nationwide in 2010 and to prepare to market internationally. The business is based in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
