Overview
ePACT is a highly secure online emergency network that lets families and organizations store, share, and access critical emergency and medical information. Launched in 2012 and based in Vancouver, the platform provides communication tools and support-network features for preparation and response during crises. ePACT serves hundreds of organizations across Canada and the U.S. and is used in over 110 countries worldwide. The company recently secured $2.5 million in growth capital debt financing from CIBC Innovation Banking that complements a Series A equity raise co-led by Disruption Ventures and Yaletown Partners. Management says it will use the growth capital to scale the company, team, and product going forward. ePACT aims to reduce risks, improve efficiencies, and enhance community safety by replacing paper-based forms with an online information-sharing system. ePACT Network provides a web-based emergency networking platform that lets organizations and individuals share critical information, plan collectively and communicate before, during and after emergencies. The product is described by its founders as the "LinkedIn for emergencies," and is built by a team of emergency management specialists and web technology experts. ePACT aims to increase connectivity and safety across families, organizations and communities in any crisis. The company was founded in 2012 after the cofounders’ conversations with survivors of the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami. Management has signaled plans for growth, and the company recently added Byye group partner Nancy Knowlton to its board. Financially, ePACT previously raised a small seed round from Yaletown Ventures and has now secured a funding round believed to be in the ~$1 million area.
