  • LoopX

    Led · Seed · Aug 2026

LoopX develops a physical AI platform that combines thermal computer vision, edge computing and proprietary AI models trained on data collected from operating mine sites. Its product portfolio includes a collision avoidance system for mobile mining equipment, LoadSight for automated payload measurement and material tracking, and BoomGuard for active safety around boom-operated machinery. The company’s systems are deployed at eight active mining sites operated by customers and contractors including Vale Base Metals and Cementation Americas. LoopX uses data collected from deployments to improve its models, system reliability and implementation processes. The company plans to expand its applied AI engineering, customer success and go-to-market teams following its seed raise.

  • Picketa Systems

    Participated · Seed · Jun 2026

Picketa Systems develops a portable leaf-evaluated nutrient system (LENS) that uses optical spectroscopy and machine learning to estimate 13 key crop nutrients in minutes, coupled with a Fieldbook software platform to deliver recommendations to growers and agronomists. LENS has been validated against third-party laboratory chemical testing and the company works with institutions including the University of Guelph, University of Missouri, University of Nebraska–Lincoln and Cornell to build its calibration dataset. The technology has been validated on potatoes, corn and canola and is being expanded to soybeans and wheat, with cotton, onions and tomatoes in the pipeline. Picketa’s go-to-market has reached 45 agricultural retailers in North America and users include grower Chris Weaver; the company charges $10,000 (USD) per year for hardware, unlimited sampling, support and Fieldbook access, with 10% of that fee allocated to lab validation. Management says Fieldbook recommendations can help reduce fertilizer costs by up to 20% and enable more granular, region- and variety-specific nutrient guidance. The company plans to scale adoption across more crops and geographies as it commercializes the LENS technology.

  • Nord Quantique

    Participated · Equity · May 2026

Nord Quantique develops a hardware-efficient quantum computing architecture that embeds error correction at the individual qubit level using superconducting bosonic codes. Its design targets a 1:1 logical-to-physical qubit ratio to reduce physical qubit overhead and capital requirements compared with legacy quantum systems. The architecture is said to enable faster clock speeds and data-center-compatible scaling. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Julien Camirand Lemyre and is based in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Financially, Nord Quantique recently raised $30M in growth equity at a $1.4B valuation, and previously secured $16M from the Canadian Quantum Champions Program and $5M in active DARPA Stage B funding with potential for further DARPA funding. The company plans to use recent proceeds to scale engineering operations and advance toward commercially viable, fault-tolerant quantum computers by 2030.
