Episode Six (E6) provides enterprise-grade ledger and cards infrastructure, offering a flexible, adaptable platform for fintechs, banks, and brands. Its product suite includes real-time payments, card issuing and processing, fraud detection, and capabilities for card acquiring used by clients. Customers include banks and firms such as First Fidelity Bank, TransPecos Banks, and e-commerce checkout firm Montonio. The company reports a presence in 38 countries and counts top 50 global banks among its customers. Leadership says the business plans to scale go-to-market efforts and expand headcount from about 150 to roughly 200 employees by year-end. The CEO declined to disclose recurring revenue details publicly. Episode Six provides modern payment processing and banking infrastructure via a platform that enables financial institutions, fintechs and other companies to build differentiated payments and account products. The platform includes more than 550 APIs and 100 plug-ins to accelerate integration and product delivery. It supports multiple languages, currencies and country-specific regulatory requirements and can be deployed in cloud or on-premise environments. In the past year Episode Six rolled out technology enhancements IONIC and Vertices to increase configurability and product flexibility. Currently 3 million consumers and businesses use products built on Episode Six's technology. The company has raised USD40 million in total capital and plans to leverage recent funding to accelerate global expansion, expand its team, and support clients across verticals and key financial markets. Episode Six operates globally with teams in the U.S., Europe, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong. Episode Six develops a payments software platform that customers license to create new digital products and payment programs via hundreds of APIs. Its customers include financial services firms, e-commerce companies, and other payment issuers, and it pursues Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks globally. Founded in July 2015 and based in Austin, the company is expanding into the Asia Pacific region and has recent activity in Copenhagen with an expected New York customer forthcoming. It is partnering with Danish fintech ARYZE to help build a Digital Cash product. Management plans to expand sales, support, and engineering teams and expects to reach about 45 employees by the end of the year with additional hiring planned for 2021. Episode Six does not disclose revenue or profitability, though the CFO expects to triple current revenue within 12–24 months, and executives plan a Series B early next year.
