Equip Outdoor Technologies supplies the RAB range of mountaineering clothing, offering highly technical waterproof and down garments, sleeping bags for extreme environments, and rucksacks. The brand was founded over thirty years ago by Rab Carrington and is led by CEO Matt Gowar. RAB has developed significant export markets across Europe, the Far East and North America. Equip has acquired the Kendal-based Lowe Alpine clothing and rucksack brand and intends to redevelop Lowe Alpine’s clothing range and expand its rucksack offering under CEO Matt Gowar and MD Chris Harding. The combined group employs over 90 people and is forecast to have annual revenues of almost £30m in 2012. The acquisition and product redevelopment form the core of the company’s near-term strategic plans.
