Evolution Space develops solid rocket motors and small-launch sounding rockets, and is expanding its production and testing capabilities. The company struck a deal with NASA to repurpose former facilities at Stennis Space Center into a Space Propulsion Center, the first time Stennis will host solid rocket motor development. Evolution plans to commence production of its solid rocket motors in the second quarter of next year and will conduct static fire testing at Stennis’ E-3 Test Complex. It is also growing testing and flight operations in the Gulf region in partnership with offshore launch platform startup The Spaceport Company, which hosted four of Evolution’s sounding rocket launches from a floating platform in May. The company said it closed a bridge round as it continues to raise its Series A. That bridge financing amounted to $1.2 million, according to Space News.
