Extreme Reality is an Israeli company that develops 3D motion-analysis technology (Extreme Motion skeletal technology) that runs on standard 2D cameras and is distributed via an SDK. The company made Extreme Motion its primary focus two years ago and began marketing a product within the past 12 months. Its SDK was recently made publicly available and Extreme Reality reports a big uptick in developer interest since the release; the tech is already used in mobile titles including SEGA’s GO DANCE. Revenue to date has come from revenue-sharing agreements with game developers and licensing agreements. The firm sees additional opportunities in personal-security software and the broader consumer-device market, and several OEMs have discussed exclusivity engagements. CEO Sarit Firon said the new investment will help further SDK adoption and pursue additional markets as the company aims to build a long-term independent business.
