The system is intended to make sub-millimeter vascular and nerve suturing and other microsurgical tasks more precise and easier to perform, shortening training time for surgeons. The company says the robot could expand access to procedures like lymphaticovenous anastomosis and improve patient quality of life and surgical outcomes. The product is currently in development and the team aims to complete medical-device regulatory approval and clinical testing. F.MED plans to add features over time such as remote operation and decision-support functions to further improve safety, standardization, and usability.
