factory14 is a roll-up startup that buys established marketplace sellers and aims to scale them via shared analytics, supply-chain management, marketing and operational expertise. The company launched earlier this year and is based in Luxembourg with offices in Madrid, London, Shanghai and Taipei. Since launching it has made four acquisitions, including Pro Bike Tool, and has kept acquired founders in place to run the businesses. Factory14 focuses on higher-quality, faster-growing brands rather than volume buys. The startup says it is already profitable and expects to have $20 million in trailing twelve months EBITDA by the end of 2021. It plans to double its team to about 80 employees by that time. The founding team includes CEO Guilherme Steinbruch and co-founders Marcos Ramírez (COO) and Gianluca Cocco (CBO), each with prior e-commerce experience.
