Faros AI was founded three years ago by Vitaly Gordon alongside Shubha Nabar and Matthew Tovbin and builds a single-pane platform that aggregates engineering operational data from disparate systems. Customers connect multiple data sources to out-of-the-box modules and benchmarks, then customize analytics to measure team health, tech debt, dependencies, onboarding efficacy, and time spent on feature development versus debt. The company recently unveiled Lighthouse AI, an engine that uses natural-language queries to surface insights across systems. Faros says it has tripled its customer base and quadrupled revenue over the past 12 months, and hadn’t spent most of the cash from its prior fundraise. It currently employs 35 people and anticipates doubling headcount in the next 12 months. Faros plans to use new funding to expand go-to-market, accelerate R&D, and bolster customer success. Faros AI was founded by three former Salesforce Einstein engineers who left Salesforce in 2019 to tackle gaps in engineering-operations data. The company’s product connects to tooling such as Jira, Jenkins and GitHub using more than 50 built-in connectors and an intelligence layer that links identities and traces project history across systems. Faros open-sourced its connector technology and made a community edition (Faros CE) generally available for customers to download and install. Its enterprise offering is a fully hosted SaaS with security controls, role-based access and integrations with enterprise authentication systems like Okta. Customers using the product include Box, Coursera and GoFundMe. The startup has 20 employees and expects to double headcount by the end of the year. Financially, Faros announced a $16 million seed round and has been funding development through staged closes since October 2019.
