Faze Medicines is a biotechnology company founded to translate the emerging science of biomolecular condensates into therapies. The company launched with an $81 million Series A financing led by Third Rock Ventures with a syndicate of strategic and venture investors. Faze will focus initial preclinical research on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) and will explore condensate biology in other disease areas. Its discovery approach leverages state-of-the-art screening and proteomics to identify proteins that regulate disease-causing condensates and proprietary assays to discover small-molecule drugs targeting those proteins. The company was founded by leading condensate researchers including Roy Parker, Mike Rosen, J. Paul Taylor and Ron Vale. Leadership includes interim CEO Cary Pfeffer and a seasoned executive team and inaugural board to advance drug discovery and development.
