Overview
Feed is a French startup selling meal-replacement products that began with a powder representing one meal and now also offers cereal-bar equivalents. Its products are vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, GMO-free and made in France. The company has sold 1 million kilograms of powder (over 6.5 million bottles) and sells via its website, in many French supermarkets, and delivers to 30 countries. Feed has built a strong online brand and community with hundreds of thousands of followers and numerous product-test videos. In 2018 the company planned to generate $11.6 million in revenue. Feed positions its products as convenient partial meal replacements and plans to expand into new countries and pursue additional supermarket partnerships across Europe. Feed develops and online-sells complete, balanced “nutritionally perfect” meals packaged into easily consumable forms such as drinks and bars. Its meals are designed and prepared by chefs, nutritionists, and agri-food engineers. The company was founded by Anthony Bourbon in 2016 and is based in Paris. Feed recently raised €3 million to support growth. With the new funding it plans to hire around 20 employees to accelerate development in Europe. The startup will also increase R&D to launch new products, including vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, GM-free and nut-free options, and positions its products as a fast, practical, healthy alternative to traditional meals.
