Overview
Filtered is a Boston, MA-based platform that automates technical interviews and reduces bias to speed hiring. The system evaluates candidates in minutes for job, team, and company fit through capabilities-based hiring and automates applications, screening calls, and coding interviews. It supports hiring across AI, data science, computer science, full-stack development, blockchain, and DevOps. Fortune 500 customers such as Cigna, Enterprise Holdings and The Federal Reserve Bank use the platform. Led by newly appointed CEO Dan Finnigan, Filtered raised $10M and intends to use the funds to expand operations and broaden its business reach. Usama Fayyad will join the board, bringing AI and data expertise. Filtered.ai offers a skills-based technical hiring service that uses take-home tests and AI to detect fraud, plus session playback and video-based open-ended questions to replace formulaic phone screens and whiteboard interviews. The product is aimed at speeding hiring and improving assessment accuracy for engineering and developer hires. The company says its approach can widen the candidate market and make hiring more equitable by emphasizing demonstrated skills over resumes. Filtered began as an internal project in 2016, split from a consulting group in 2019, and was bootstrapped until deciding to take external capital. Management plans to accelerate hiring, build out its go-to-market model, shift pricing, and move from an enterprise sales focus toward a land-and-expand strategy. The CEO also said the company just had its best quarter in its history around the time the round closed.
