Overview
Finkargo provides an international trade platform that helps small and medium-sized businesses in LATAM with supplier sourcing, shipment verification, cargo insurance and embedded trade financing. The company uses proprietary trade data to analyze supply chains and tailor solutions to each importer’s needs. It plans to use new funding to accelerate growth in Mexico and expand its offering beyond trade financing into an integrated suite of trade services, including supplier sourcing, product verifications, cargo insurance, foreign exchange, and international trade data intelligence. Founded in 2021 and based in Mexico City, Finkargo has served over 250 customers and supported more than 2,000 import operations. Its network includes 430 suppliers across 40 countries. The company aims to scale its supply‑chain and financing capabilities with the additional capital. Finkargo is a Colombian fintech that provides trade-finance products to MiPymes to finance international purchases. Its financial product strengthens clients' international operations by improving negotiation power, diversifying suppliers, speeding access to capital, and using guarantees adjusted to business realities. The company digitizes these solutions and states it can pay international suppliers in under 24 hours, offering agility, transparency and flexibility. Finkargo reports it has financed $50M in international purchases, serves more than 600 MiPymes, and says clients have increased operation value by 62% while supplier bases rose 27%; more than 25% of clients are leveraging global value chains. The startup was founded by Santiago Molina, Tomás Shuk and Andrés Ferrer and plans to use the new capital to further grow its MiPyme base in Colombia in the next year. The funding is intended to expand access to cross-border trade finance for underserved small and medium businesses in the region.
