Fleek offers an interface and protocol layer to make base-layer Web3 services—like storage, hosting and billing—accessible to developers, with an initial focus on the content-delivery market. The company hosts about 50,000 apps today, mainly within the Ethereum ecosystem, and builds products on crypto protocols including Ethereum, Filecoin, Internet Computer, IPFS and Textile. Fleek plans to launch its Fleek Network in 2023, a decentralized edge network where anyone can run nodes and provide resources to the network. The startup aims to combine Web3 decentralization with Web2-like scale, throughput and latency while undercutting incumbent CDN pricing. Fleek targets bandwidth pricing below a penny per gigabyte compared with Cloudflare’s roughly $0.05–$0.15/GB. The fresh capital will be used to build out the Fleek Network and platform, hire additional talent and grow its community.
