Overview

Flip is building a next-generation shopping social network where shoppers discover products through 60-second user-generated video reviews that are instantly shoppable with one-click checkout and same-day shipping. The platform lets every shopper become a creator and monetize their content, and Flip emphasizes short-form video reviews and a growing community. Flip recently launched its MagicOS ads manager and plans to relaunch its marketing platform for brands powered by AppLovin’s AXON technology via AXON Connect. The partnership is intended to give Flip brands access to AppLovin’s AI advertising engine and to extend Flip’s audience network to AppLovin’s 1.4 billion daily active users. Financially, Flip is raising $144 million in a Series C that included a $50 million investment from AppLovin and brought the company’s pre-money valuation to $1.05 billion. The company says the combined ad product roadmap is intended to help tens of thousands of brands find customers profitably and drive higher returns on the Flip platform. Flip combines social discovery and premium e-commerce by letting shoppers discover products through 60-second user-generated videos that are instantly shoppable with one-click checkout and same-day shipping. Shoppers can become creators by sharing video reviews and monetizing their content as others engage and shop through it. The company says it uses patented technology that dynamically connects digital content to physical products to create a seamless discovery-to-purchase cycle. Flip experienced rapid growth, reporting a 500% increase in its user base and over 600% growth in transactions since the beginning of 2022. Financially, Flip has raised a total of $95 million to date. The company plans to use its recent funding to expand the team, deepen brand partnerships, and launch a third-party social commerce marketplace this summer. Flip is a live commerce mobile app that mixes live shopping shows with user-generated video reviews, integrated post-purchase services, and creator monetization for beauty, wellness and health brands. Founded in 2019 by Nooruldeen “Noor” Agha and based in Los Angeles, the company bundles same-day shipping and back-end logistics into the platform. Users can post video reviews, view real-time performance data, and earn commissions on sales driven by their posts. Flip reports roughly 1 million downloads and shipped about 30,000 orders in the last quarter, which the company expects to double soon. The company is signing about 20 new brands per week, has partnerships such as Unilever, and expects to reach 500 brands by the holiday season. Flip plans to use the new capital to scale its creator ecosystem, expand end-to-end logistics, and accelerate growth via a planned grand launch. FlipFit builds a social retail app where friends and followers vote on outfit selfies, earn in‑app cash ($10 per new voting user, $1 per vote) and add items to a virtual wardrobe to order try‑at‑home boxes. Users select styles to be shipped, try them on, and return unwanted items using the included pre‑printed return label; FlipFit leans into returns and handles logistics and fulfillment. The company keeps 33% of the cash from any item sold to cover operations and logistics. At launch FlipFit has 200 brands signed (including AG, JBrand, Hudson, Boyish and others) and is executing an influencer push of roughly 500 influencers over 90 days, offering $150 in store credit bi‑monthly or paid sponsorships. The app’s UX is likened to TikTok or Snap, offers public or private feeds, and is available to users aged 13 and up. The founders are Nooruldeen Agha and Jonathan Ellman; Agha’s prior business Elabelz was generating $23 million in revenue from 150,000 boxes, which the team says supports FlipFit’s fulfillment capabilities.
