ForSight Robotics develops the ORYOM™ Platform, a robotic surgery system for cataract and other eye diseases that uses AI-based algorithms, advanced computer vision, and micromechanics to deliver high precision and dexterity. The platform is engineered to reach any point within the human eye, enabling access to anterior and posterior segments and positioning the company for glaucoma and retinal procedures. ForSight plans to begin first-in-human/robotic cataract surgery clinical trials in the near term. The company has completed hundreds of procedures on animal eye models with over two dozen ophthalmic surgeons participating. It frames its mission around the global shortage of eye surgeons—28 million cataract surgeries are performed annually while low-income countries average just 3.7 eye surgeons per million people—to democratize access to vision-restoring care. CEO Daniel Glozman said the investment will help bring robotics into ophthalmic surgery to help millions of patients who otherwise wait for procedures. ForSight Robotics builds a proprietary surgical platform specifically for ophthalmological procedures that require extreme precision. The system combines robotics, advanced visualization, and machine learning to help physicians perform ophthalmic procedures more uniformly. The company cites a global shortage of qualified eye surgeons — roughly 72 per million in developed nations versus 3.7 per million in developing countries — to illustrate demand. ForSight raised $10 million in a "mega-seed" round to fund growth. The capital will be used to expand headcount and broaden the company’s global reach as it pursues regulatory approvals for international launches. Its strategic advisory board includes industry veterans such as Dr. Fred Moll, Rony Abovitz, Ajay Royan, and several ophthalmic surgeons.
