Fracture
13000 Tech City Circle, Alachua, FL, 32615, United States
Overview
Fracture provides on-demand photo printing on glass via a proprietary UV-based digital photo-to-glass manufacturing process. The process produces prints that last at least three years in direct sunlight and up to a decade with careful handling. Products include portraits, landscapes and square (Instagram-friendly) prints in multiple sizes with wall or stand mounts and custom sizes. The company shipped an average of 30–40 orders per day worldwide, grew gross revenue from $86,000 in its first shipping year to $700,000 last year, and operates with margins around 40–50%. Founded in 2009 by Abhi Lokesh and Alex Theodore, Fracture runs a 5,300-square-foot manufacturing, packaging and sales facility in downtown Gainesville, Fla., and has a team of 11. With production stabilized, the company plans to use the new funding mainly for marketing, to build a mobile app, and later to expand to new materials and display techniques.
