Freddie's Flowers
Unit E015, London, SW18 4UQ, United Kingdom
Overview
Freddie’s Flowers is a subscription flower service that delivers curated bouquets weekly across mainland UK and Germany. Launched in 2014, it uses a grow-to-order model where growers only cut what’s needed to reduce waste. The company grew quickly after a lockdown-driven sales spike and is described as the largest flower box subscription business in the UK. It serves around 130,000 customers in the UK and nearly 25,000 in Germany. Sustainability is central: Freddie’s is newly certified carbon neutral (third-party verified by the Carbon Trust), has Science-Based Targets for emissions reductions, prioritises recyclable and biodegradable packaging, and operates an electric bike delivery fleet (about 20% of deliveries, two-thirds of London deliveries). The business is pursuing further sustainable delivery expansion (more electric bikes and electric vans soon) and works industry-wide through the Floriculture Sustainability Initiative to measure environmental impact and improve sector working conditions.
