Freedom Fibre
Northbank House, Siemens Road, Irlam, Manchester, England, M44 5AH, United Kingdom
Overview
Freedom Fibre builds and operates fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) broadband networks serving villages and towns across Cheshire and Greater Manchester. The company currently provides high-speed service to about 20,000 homes and expects to reach 70,000 premises by the end of 2022. It uses extensive BT ducts and poles to minimise disruption during rollout and has a wholesale agreement with TalkTalk to boost customer penetration. Freedom Fibre says it will use the new funding to accelerate roll-out across semi-rural parts of North England and to add another broadband service provider as it scales. The firm ultimately seeks to reach more than 2 million premises in its chosen locations. CEO Neil McArthur framed the strategy as expanding affordable full-fibre access beyond urban areas to improve customer experience and long-term network durability.
