FreshDirect operates an online grocery delivery service serving addresses across parts of the U.S. East Coast. It offers standard grocery delivery and has launched FoodKick for one-hour delivery in select locations. The company currently ships to New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Delaware and says FoodKick is driving significant customer-base expansion. FreshDirect plans to use new capital to build up manufacturing capacity and to open new geographies. The company reports about $600 million in revenue and says it is profitable and growing. It competes with Amazon, Instacart, Google, and on-demand platforms such as Postmates.
