Overview

Frugalpac is a British clean-technology company based in Ipswich that produces the Frugal Bottle, the world’s first commercially available paper wine and spirits bottle combining a recycled paperboard shell with a separable food-grade pouch. The bottle is made from 94% recycled paper, is five times lighter than glass and has a carbon footprint 84% lower than glass; more than three million bottles have been produced, used by over 50 brands in 27 countries, preventing over 1,400 tonnes of CO₂e. Frugalpac sells Frugal Bottle Assembly Machines (FBAMs) to packaging companies and contract bottlers and earns royalties on every bottle produced; machines are already operating in the USA and Canada and an order exists in Australia. A high-speed FBAM-2 is in development, and the company is developing additional products including a recyclable Frugal Paint Pot, takeaway beverage cups and paperboard pots for food and FMCG. Management aims to deploy 22 FBAMs by 2029 to enable production of 191 million bottles annually, and forecasts revenue growing from £2 million in 2024 to £51 million by 2029 with profitability expected by Q2 2026.
