Overview
Futureswap is a San Francisco-based decentralized, AMM-based perpetuals protocol led by co-founder Derek Alia that enables up to 30x leverage on any Uniswap pair. The protocol is user-governed and targets professional perpetual traders, liquidity providers seeking high-yield opportunities, and developers building dapps. Futureswap launched V4, which leverages Uniswap V3’s core exchange and its supporting ecosystem. The company will deploy V4 first on Arbitrum, a low-fee, fast Layer-2 scaling solution built on Ethereum. Futureswap is leveraging partnerships with Chainlink, Arbitrum, NFTX, REN, Gelato, and Visor Finance to deliver V4, with each partner contributing a component. The team raised $12M in funding to support the V4 launch and expansion. Futureswap is a decentralized, non-custodial futures exchange and a hybrid between a decentralized exchange and a leveraged trading platform. It enables investors to acquire leveraged crypto futures contracts at competitive rates by substituting order books with automated market making. The protocol provides incentives to liquidity providers and uses a 'Dynamic Funding Rate' to maintain systemwide balance between longs and shorts. Futureswap aims to disrupt the multi-billion dollar leveraged trading market currently dominated by centralized exchanges like BitMEX. The project received a $400,000 investment from Framework Ventures, which will also provide liquidity and development support. Framework said it will hold tokens and supplement the investment with liquidity provision, an application toolkit, and additional ecosystem assistance.
