Founded in 2019 and based in London, Sava is also pursuing interest from athletes and health-conscious consumers as it targets the global wearables market. Sava is a London, UK-based consumer and medical device company developing a wearable biosensor platform that can detect molecules just under the skin. Its novel microsensor technology monitors biomarkers in real time, starting with glucose. The company recently gained MHRA approval to proceed with clinical trials in patients with diabetes. An upcoming clinical study is scheduled to start with investigators from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Sava plans to use the $8M Seed to expand its team, design its product line with manufacturing capability, and demonstrate the platform’s clinical performance.
