Fyma provides a real-time occupancy and mobility data and insights platform that uses AI and computer vision to help commercial real estate owners and asset managers maximize value generation. The company integrates with existing hardware to deliver more data and fast integration for CRE developers, owners and asset managers across the Nordics, the UK and the US. Fyma holds a U.S. patent for its technology and is working on an EU patent. Led by CEO Karen Burns and CTO Taavi Tammiste, Fyma serves clients worldwide, including QuadReal, Grosvenor Estates, and Technopolis. Fyma raised $2.1m in funding and intends to use the proceeds to expand its business reach and development efforts. The company partners with CRE developers, owners and asset managers to provide occupancy and human activity analytics. Fyma offers a SaaS platform that extracts and analyses live footage from outdoor and CCTV cameras to produce actionable motion-analytics data. The system identifies patterns of movement for people (pedestrians, shoppers) and objects (vehicles, machinery) while anonymising data and preventing facial recognition as part of a privacy-by-design approach. The platform works with new and legacy cameras and is already running pilots across applications from urban planning to retail. Pilot projects include a partnership with Dubai’s road and transport authority to analyse pedestrian and transport ridership, a leading Baltic shopping centre to study COVID-19 impacts, and work with Tallinn’s Ülemiste City to optimise parking. Founded last year and based in Tallinn, the company is led by co-founders Karen K. Burns (CEO) and Tavi Tammiste (CTO). Fyma says it will use the recent funding to double headcount, run additional pilots, and focus on business development.
