Next generation early stage tech investing, bridging Europe and the USA. 7percent Ventures invest in early stage tech startups which represent billion dollar opportunities. They are not interested in startups which iterate a market, they are interested in startups that transform them. Change is the prerequisite of disruption. To monopolize a market they believe you must fundamentally disrupt it. To do that, you must have a product which solves a painful problem in a better way than existing solutions or serves a need that is not currently being satisfied. They are sector agnostic, although they do not invest in areas that they do not understand or where they cannot add value. They will not invest in any business –however good it might be—which is not a billion dollar opportunity. Your startup must doing something which is scalable enough in a large enough market for a future valuation of $1bn to be possible.

BioOrbit develops compact, modular autonomous manufacturing units called BOX to perform crystallisation of biological drugs in microgravity at industry-relevant scale. The company positions BOX as a microwave-sized payload that moves crystallisation from one-off experiments to repeatable manufacturing pathways not achievable on Earth. BioOrbit says its technology enables better-performing biologics and is engaging with the NHS and the UK Space Agency while working on regulatory pathways with the MHRA, Regulatory Innovation Office and CAA. The company was founded and funded by Dr. Katie King and co-founder oncology researcher Dr. Leonor Teles and has appointed senior pharma-and-space executives to its leadership team. BioOrbit has participated in accelerators including Airbus Accelerator, Seraphim Space Accelerator, ESA BSGN Life Sciences, ESA BIC UK and the UK Space Agency LEO Accelerator. The system enables voice control of camera functions and local content-editing tasks such as colour grading and style selection, aiming to simplify production for solo creators and small businesses. The company uses the latest AI processing chips to create a vertically integrated AI technology stack that supports rapid experimentation and embedded AI software. Founded in 2021 and based in London, Camera Intelligence aims to transform cameras from passive observers into intelligent collaborators. The €1.7 million Seed round will accelerate development of its integrated AI-native camera and content-editing solutions. Camera Intelligence plans to launch its LLM functionality to iOS users in autumn 2025.

Magdrive develops advanced electric propulsion thrusters that use metal propellant and internal energy to produce high-energy plasma, yielding higher thrust than similar-sized electric systems. Their compact thrusters target satellite servicing, in-space transportation, and deep-space exploration. The company launched its first mission in January 2023 and is preparing an in-orbit test of the Magdrive Rogue thruster with D-Orbit scheduled for June 2025. Magdrive is also developing a SuperMagdrive thruster designed to be refuelled with metal found in space to enable sustainable deep-space missions. The $10.5M seed funding will support continued R&D, construction of a UK manufacturing facility, and establishment of a US office. CEO Mark Stokes and investors characterize the technology as enabling improved manoeuvrability, longevity, and new capabilities for mega-constellations, asteroid mining, and in-space servicing. Magdrive is developing a next-generation plasma propulsion system for small satellites that the company says delivers both high thrust and high efficiency, a claimed generational leap over existing electric thrusters. The engine is intended to enable fast interplanetary travel, operations in very low Earth orbit, repeated fast maneuvers, and make orbital manufacturing more feasible. Co-founders Dr Thomas Clayson (a plasma physicist) and Mark Stokes (a mechanical engineer from Imperial College London) built an initial small-scale thruster prototype. Magdrive is based at the European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre in Harwell, Oxford. The startup faces competitors working on electric and miniaturized thrusters—Busek, Exotrail, Apollo Fusion, Enpulsion and NanoAvionics—while large aerospace firms continue to improve chemical propulsion. The company plans to scale the technology to power larger, potentially manned spacecraft for destinations such as the Moon and Mars. Magdrive recently closed seed funding to advance development and commercialization.
