Gathern is a Riyadh-based peer-to-peer (P2P) vacation rental marketplace founded in 2017 by Latifa Altamimi. The platform offers users rental properties — including villas, apartments and yachts — listed directly by owners. It is the first company in Saudi Arabia licensed by the Ministry of Tourism for P2P rentals, allowing property owners to rent without individual licences. The company plans to use new funding to support IPO preparation, inbound travel growth, expansion into long-term rentals and AI-driven technology upgrades. In 2021 Gathern raised a $6M Series A led by STV with participation from Vision Ventures and 500 Startups. Most recently it completed a Series B round valuing the company at over $266M.
