Gatik
161 E Evelyn Ave, Mountain View, California, 94041, United States
Overview
Founded in 2017, Gatik builds and operates autonomous class 6-7 trucks optimized for short-haul, business-to-business routes, allowing retailers to move goods frequently and reliably between distribution centers and stores. Its proprietary AI Driver™ system has logged extensive commercial miles and already supports freight-only (driverless) operations in Texas, Arkansas, Arizona and Ontario. Gatik focuses on recurring, densely trafficked middle-mile routes, claiming industry-leading safety and scalability. Key partners include Isuzu Motors, NVIDIA, Cummins, Ryder and Goodyear, and the company previously launched the world’s first driverless commercial transportation service in 2021. Under a new agreement with Loblaw Companies, Gatik will deploy 50 autonomous trucks in the Greater Toronto Area by 2026, initially with safety drivers before transitioning to fully driverless mode. The expansion will add cold-chain-ready vehicles to move time-sensitive grocery and household items to over 300 Loblaw stores. Although no revenue figures were disclosed, the deal positions Gatik for accelerated geographic and fleet growth across North America.
