Gear4music
Clifton area, York, United Kingdom
Overview
Gear4music is an online musical instrument retailer founded in 2003 by managing director Andrew Wass. It sells major brands including Fender, Gibson, Yamaha and Roland as well as its own branded lines such as Black Knight guitars, Coppergate brass instruments and Minster keyboards and pianos. The company operates a showroom and retail outlet in York and has over 200,000 registered customers. It plans to use new capital to develop its technology platform, increase product offerings and expand in the UK and Europe, including the imminent launch of 22 localized versions of the Gear4music.com website. Yorkshire Bank’s corporate and structured finance team re-financed the company’s existing facilities in conjunction with the investment. As part of the transaction, Key Capital Partners placed a director on the board and a new chairman was appointed.
