Darts Corner is an online retailer selling darts and darts accessories, offering leading brands and its own Mission brand into international markets. Founded in 2007 and based in Bolton, the company employs 50 people. In recent years it has invested heavily in new products and new premises and is close to launching a vastly improved website and a new stock management system. Its current financial position includes a £7 million investment from Key Capital Partners in exchange for a significant minority stake. Founder Wayne Taylor will remain as Chief Executive following the investment. Key Capital Partners said it will support the team as the business pursues a number of significant opportunities over the next few years.

Its current financial position includes a £3.3m investment from Key Capital Partners. The company is based in Sheffield and pursuing geographic expansion in southern England.

Gear4music is an online musical instrument retailer founded in 2003 by managing director Andrew Wass. It sells major brands including Fender, Gibson, Yamaha and Roland as well as its own branded lines such as Black Knight guitars, Coppergate brass instruments and Minster keyboards and pianos. The company operates a showroom and retail outlet in York and has over 200,000 registered customers. It plans to use new capital to develop its technology platform, increase product offerings and expand in the UK and Europe, including the imminent launch of 22 localized versions of the Gear4music.com website. Yorkshire Bank’s corporate and structured finance team re-financed the company’s existing facilities in conjunction with the investment. As part of the transaction, Key Capital Partners placed a director on the board and a new chairman was appointed.
