GEVI
Piazza Nilde Iotti, 13, Pontedera, Pisa, 56025, Italy
Overview
Founded in 2022, Italy-based GEVI builds modular vertical-axis micro-wind turbines whose blades adjust every hundredth of a second via an AI control system that analyses live wind data and fluid-dynamics models. The 3 m-tall, 5.4 m-diameter units deliver a nominal 5 kW of power from wind speeds as low as 3 m/s, targeting rooftops, urban sites, and local micro-grids where conventional wind or solar can be less effective. GEVI claims up to 60 % higher annual energy output compared with leading vertical-axis turbines and up to 80 % load reduction in strong winds, improving efficiency, reliability, and safety. The ten-person team operates an R&D office in Pisa and a commercial office in Rome. Fresh capital will fund serial production, further industrialise the design, enhance the AI control software, and roll out new turbine versions. Commercial deployment is planned across key European markets as the company scales from prototype to full industrial product.
