Overview
Giyst is a University College Dublin spin-out based in Cork that uses patent-pending AI and machine-learning to automate repurposing of long-form video into shorter clips and summaries. The platform targets social media, marketing, education and other digital platforms to save time and boost engagement. Founded in 2023 by Avril Power and Colm Murphy, Giyst has secured clients across the UK, Europe and the USA and is supported by NovaUCD. The company developed its solution following an Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Fund project carried out at CeADAR in collaboration with Dr Ricardo Simon Carbajo and his research team. Giyst is pursuing a planned £630k seed round and has already raised £440k from angel investors and Enterprise Ireland. The company intends to use the funding to expand operations and scale its platform in the US through strategic partnerships, marketing, and sales.
