Glide Pharma, based in Oxford, develops the Glide SDI® needle-free delivery system for administering solid-dose formulations subcutaneously. The Glide SDI uses a spring mechanism to insert a tiny solid dosage below the skin, where it dissolves and releases the pharmaceutical. The company focuses on both the device and the drug product and is developing in-house therapeutic programmes. It plans to use newly raised capital to scale up manufacturing for its proprietary Glide SDI system, covering both drug product and device. Its in-house programmes include epinephrine and parathyroid hormone.
